Tilan Law Group advised Skylark Minerals Limited, an Australian Securities Exchange–listed mining company, on the acquisition of the Ivorian gold portfolio of Ricca Resources Limited, a strategic transaction marking a key milestone in Skylark’s expansion in West Africa.

The transaction, completed in December 2025, notably covers the Zaranou gold project, located in south-eastern Côte d’Ivoire, as well as several exploration licences and licence applications with strong geological potential. The Zaranou project hosts an inferred mineral resource compliant with the JORC (2012) standard, estimated at 364,600 ounces of gold, and benefits from favourable conditions for the rapid commencement of exploration activities from the first quarter of 2026.

The Tilan Law Group team advised on the legal structuring of the transaction, the regulatory review, and the coordination with local stakeholders in Côte d’Ivoire.

TILAN LAW GROUP acted as counsel to Appian Capital Advisory Limited in connection with the financing that enabled Atlantic Group to complete the acquisition of the Tongon gold mine from Barrick Mining Corporation.

Appian Capital Advisory Limited, a global investor specialising in critical minerals and mining assets, structured a financing package consisting of a secured senior loan and a gold streaming agreement, to support this transaction with a total value that may reach USD 305 million. This operation represents a significant milestone for the Ivorian mining sector, strengthening the future of one of the country’s key gold-producing assets.

In this cross-border transaction, Appian Capital Advisory Limited was assisted by TILAN LAW GROUP in Côte d’Ivoire alongside the international law firm Fasken Martineau LLP in London.
